Our process

A collection of hand-crafted furniture and objects conceived and made by the Swedish designer Mia Lagerman, Them Objects explores new typologies based around classic references and a desire to question perceived truths. Understated yet expressive, Them Objects play with proportions and materials, rigorous forms and organic details, to make something joyful and useful.


MATERIALS WE WORK WITH

RATTAN

Rattan is a fibrous vine-like plant and the material used to make a wicker weave. Rattan is part of the palm family and can be found growing in the tropical regions of Africa, Asia and Australia. It is an extremely durable material that is also lightweight and flexible, making it ideal for weaving and manipulating into furniture.

GLASSWARE
Adding a bit of whimsy to the table setting, this handmade glass family of three play with light and transparency while resting decoratively on the table or firmly in your hand.

Made by hand at a small Swedish glasswork with 100% recycled glass, the design use material thickness and asymmetric shapes, as well as the manufacturing process to bring out the blurry properties of glass.

Distorting the refracted light, the sturdy stem and delicate cup makes a beautiful vessel for anything delicious.

STAINED GLASSE
Every stained glass panel in our cabinets is handmade by Blyfönsterspecialisten, a family-run workshop just outside Stockholm now in its fourth generation. What began as a craft passed from father to children has become a rare, quiet expertise in leaded glass, the same technique once used to restore old church and manor windows, now finding a new home in our furniture. Working closely with the workshop, we choose each piece of colored glass by hand, embracing its imperfections and limits: some colors, once used, can never be replicated. The result is glasswork that carries real history, and cabinets that are as one-of-a-kind as the material itself.

CORTEN® STEEL

CORTEN® is a steel alloy possessing excellent weathering resistance and an attractive rust brown hue. The steel forms a protective oxide coating (dense layer of rust) which seals the surface against further corrosion. Corten has a longer life span than regular steel.
